Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s mandate letter to Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry François-Philippe Champagne includes a commitment to “strengthen privacy protections for consumers.” Trudeau also calls for “a clear set of rules that ensure fair competition in the online marketplace” and for Champagne to support the President of the Treasury Board “in their work in building a whole-of-government approach for the improved collection, analysis, availability and publication of disaggregated data.”
