The Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information has announced German property company Deutsche Wohnen SE has been fined 14.5 million euros for violating the EU General Data Protection Regulation. The fine is related to audits in June 2017 and March 2019 that revealed improper data storage and retention. According to the DPA's investigation, some personal data that was no longer required for business purposes was still being stored in the company's archives. (Original article is in German.)
