The U.S. Federal Trade Commission announced Alvaro Bedoya was sworn in as commissioner with a term set to expire Sept. 25, 2026. The addition of Bedoya rounds out the FTC's five-commissioner bench and creates a Democratic majority among commissioners. "Together with our talented and hard-working staff and my fellow commissioners, I’m confident we can vigorously advance our mission and fully serve the American people," FTC Chair Lina Khan said in a statement. Editor's note: The IAPP's Alex LaCasse reported on Bedoya's Senate confirmation to the FTC.
