In July 2023, the SEC issued rules requiring public companies to provide public notice of material cybersecurity events within 4 business days. In October 2023, the SEC brought a landmark cybersecurity lawsuit against both SolarWinds and its CISO in connection with a major security incident and alleged disclosure failures regarding the incident.
