The Nebraska Legislature gave final approval to an omnibus bill to establish a range of new state laws, including a proposed comprehensive privacy statute. Legislative Bill 1074 added its privacy provisions late in the legislative session. The privacy bill within the omnibus mirrors Texas' comprehensive law, including unique coverage thresholds without monetary stipulations, explicit language for universal opt-out mechanisms and dark patterns, and a 30-day cure period. If enacted, the privacy bill takes effect 1 Jan. 2025.
