MIT Technology Review reports the New York Police Department used the services of Clearview AI. Documents obtained via freedom-of-information requests found the NYPD exchanged emails with Clearview AI over a two-year period, during which the police department tested out facial recognition technology provided by the company. The Daily Dot reports the NYPD used Clearview's tech to identify police officers who had been drinking before a fellow officer's funeral.
