In a recent case on the right to be forgotten, a couple had won a trial on a matter of disparagement, but they found that links to websites and Facebook pages relating to this court case could be found on the Internet when searching their names.

They asked Google for the removal of these references but did not obtain satisfaction.

In an emergency proceeding, the Paris Court of First Instance, referring to the Court of Justice of the EU ruling, ruled on September 16 that Google must remove reference to all links relating to the court decision involving the plaintiffs.

Taking the matter even further, the court considered that its decision should not apply to Google.fr but to Google search engines, since Google did not demonstrate that they could not be accessed from outside France.
