China’s data governance framework, anchored by the PIPL, CSL and DSL, has reshaped data governance, AI development and cross-border data flows, creating both opportunities and compliance challenges. Our discussions will explore China’s AI-driven data ecosystem, covering domestic regulations, APAC legislative trends, and cross-border impacts from the perspective of China-based organizations venturing overseas (inside out) and global companies venturing into China to align its operational strategies with data transfers, cybersecurity, technology and data regulation requirements (outside in).
The panel will address key topics such as cross-border data transfers and data localization, recent enforcement actions and case studies, emerging trends and technologies including AI. We will look into recent amendments in AI/data privacy regulations and practical strategies for interacting with enforcement and regulators. And we will explore differences across APAC economies, equipping participants with actionable strategies to balance innovation, compliance, and market access in China and beyond.
What you will learn:
- The impact of PIPL, CSL, and DSL on data protection, privacy, and cross-border data transfers.
- Challenges and strategies for companies and institutions inside and outside China to ensure regulatory compliance while leveraging technologies like Generative AI and cloud services.
- Insights into real-world use cases, risk management approaches, and how businesses can align internal data governance with evolving legal requirements.
