The EU AI Act is the most significant set of rules to govern and manage AI systems globally. With the pace of AI development and deployment, the rules to oversee these systems are also important to evolve. Introduced as part of the EU's broader effort to simplify digital regulation, the provisional agreement reached on May 7, 2026, clarifies existing AI Act requirements, highlights the importance of technical standards, extends compliance deadlines for high-risk AI systems, and introduces new rules on AI-generated intimate content. This panel brings together legal, policy, and standards experts to share: what changed, what stayed the same, and what organizations need to do right now to stay ahead.
