The EU AI Act implementation raises many questions of articulation with the GDPR in terms of compliance, governance operations and business opportunities. The proposed AI Omnibus currently negotiated could also affect several provisions and obligations at the intersection of the two regulations.

This panel brings together experts working at the intersection of data protection and AI regulation. They will analyze key operational challenges and opportunities triggered by the AI Act and GDPR interplay; explain upcoming EDPB/European Commission joint guidelines on the GDPR/AI Act interplay in light of their experience in practice; and share their experience of how their companies apply this interplay in real world contexts.

What you will learn:

• How to address interplay tensions and opportunities where GDPR and AI Act intersect.

• What are regulators’ expectations about the GPDR/AI Act interplay.

• What to pay attention to when designing governance models that serve both regulatory regimes and support the business.
