FIP: Fellow of Information Privacy
Elevate your profile as a privacy professional and unlock new career opportunities with the FIP designation. This is open to anyone who earns a CIPP and either a CIPM, CIPT or AIGP credential.
Application requirements:
Document three years of work experience during which data privacy represents at least 50% of your job responsibilities.
Provide three references from peers familiar with your work.
Complete the FIP application form, including a personal statement of how your experience and expertise qualifies you to be a FIP.

Begin your application for the FIP designation. Please allow four weeks for the IAPP to process and review your application.
Take advantage of savings
Credential discount
Present at least one IAPP certification and receive a discount. Once you earn two credentials, there are no additional fees required to be acknowledged as a FIP.
Maintenance discount
To keep your FIP active, keep your CIPP and CIPM, CIPT or AGIP credentials in good standing by submitting the continuing privacy education credits and the annual Certification Maintenance Fee. Sign up for an IAPP annual membership and the IAPP will waive the Certification Maintenance Fee (USD250 for a two-year term).
