The Role of Tech and Impact of COVID-19 on Privacy

Published: 29 April 2021

COVID-19 has accelerated the pace of digital transformation, and we are now living in an era that has been fundamentally transformed by technology. As society begins to cautiously emerge from the pandemic and strives to bring people back together safely, technology will continue to play a central role in how we build back our economy and collectively move from a completely virtual world back into physical space. The events of the past year drove an unimagined digital transformation at breakneck speed, but as the world begins to recover, how do we move forward as vaccines roll out, and what role should technology continue to play? How do we ensure trust in the systems we have built to address the pandemic and those that are yet to come? And how do we ensure an equitable recovery that builds up economies and industries around the world? This program examines the learnings from society’s rapid digital transformation in response to COVID-19, the role of data in recovery, and the new and urgent opportunities for businesses and governments to protect data as we collectively begin the recovery phase.
