The EU Artificial Intelligence Act is the world's first comprehensive legislation regulating the use of AI. The EU AI Act establishes an intricate governance structure with interconnected stakeholders, designed to ensure effective and coherent implementation and enforcement of the law, at national and EU levels. To aid your understanding of this governance mechanism, this chart provides an overview of the different stakeholders identified in the EU AI Act, as well as their compositions, key roles and responsibilities. As the EU AI Act enters into force and becomes applicable, this chart may be updated to reflect the changes, if any, to the tasks these entities assume in fulfilling their roles. The IAPP has also published institutions privacy stakeholder maps for the EU and U.S.
