An IBM Research online program explored how confidential computing, quantum-safe cryptography and fully homomorphic encryption will solve future data privacy concerns, ZDNet reports. IBM and AMD are partnering on confidential computing and hybrid cloud deployments, the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology post-quantum cryptography program is working to address problems presented by future quantum computing, and scientists are working to improve FHE algorithms. IBM Director of Strategy & Emerging Technology Eric Maass said the challenge is “extracting the value of the data while preserving its privacy.”
