AdExchanger reports Google will not test its Federated Learning of Cohorts tracking method in Europe over concerns of its compatibility with the EU General Data Protection Regulation. Google Engineer Michael Kleber said during a meeting of the Improving Web Advertising Business Group that the FLoC may not meet GDPR requirements and thus will not test the standard in Europe. Google Chrome Product Manager Marshall Vale tweeted the technology company will start trialing FLoC in the U.S. and make it available worldwide at a later date. Editor's note: IAPP Staff Writer Joe Duball reported for The Privacy Advisor on Google's decision not to pursue a cross-site tracking alternative as it abandons third-party cookies.
