The U.S. Federal Trade Commission could bring a lawsuit against TikTok for inadequate data privacy and security practices, Politico reports. The FTC is investigating allegations that TikTok's Chinese parent company, ByteDance, accesses U.S. user data and violates children's privacy laws. In lieu of bringing a lawsuit against TikTok, the FTC could opt to reach a settlement with the company; however, one has yet to materialize.
