The Guatemala Transparency and Probity Commission sent a favorable opinion of initiative number 6,105 that provides for the approval of the "Data Protection Law." The bill now returns to the plenary of Congress for discussion in three debates. The initiative could be approved in a single debate if it is declared a national emergency, for which a favorable vote of two-thirds of deputies is required. The project has not yet been presented in the first debate.
