Generative artificial intelligence is reshaping the insurance value chain, and insurers are operationalizing AI-driven tools to automate algorithmic underwriting, implement chatbots with institutional knowledge in underwriting workflows, assist with claims adjustment workflows and accuracy, and provide customer service representatives with real-time suggestions in answering policy questions. At the same time, calls for AI regulation are growing, with some states already enacting legislation, and federal action looming.
