Tuesday, 31 March
15:00 - 16:00 EDT
Intermediate level
The EU is currently negotiating the ‘Omnibus’ legislative package, a set of proposals that could be transformational for companies’ governance in privacy, data, AI. The European Commission proposed the Digital Package in Nov. 2025, to simplify and streamline the EU rulebook on data, digital, cybersecurity and AI. It addresses several instruments, notably including GDPR, AI Act, e-privacy Directive, Data Act, NIS2 Directive among others. The simplification effort proposes changes to the practical implementation of each of these instruments individually, as well as of their interplay with one another. This session will explain the digital simplification plans proposed by the European Commission and unpack potential impacts for compliance and governance professionals, in particular on the GDPR and the AI act.
What you will learn:
• How the European Commission is framing its digital simplification plans.
• What laws are impacted and to what extent.
• What could be tangible privacy and AI changes for practitioners.
