Privacy compliance is in a resource gap crisis. In just a few years, the regulatory landscape has exploded — from AI-driven risks to global privacy laws to aggressive enforcement and class actions. Yet in many organizations, investment, commitment and resourcing for privacy have not kept pace with this escalation. Compared to areas like CFIUS, AML, antitrust, commercial litigation and others, privacy often suffers from being misunderstood, deprioritized, or treated as a checkbox exercise. This session examines why privacy compliance is harder to champion internally, how AI adoption is reshaping the conversation, how to communicate the urgency of proper privacy compliance without fearmongering, and strategies to move from playing catch-up to building proactive, future-ready programs. We will cover real-world lessons from the field (and the trenches), practical do’s and don’ts and proven ways to secure C-suite commitment.
What you will learn:
- Why privacy compliance is harder to advocate for than other compliance areas.
- Why your privacy compliance advice is only as good as your C-suite buy-in.
- What are strategies that you can implement in order to make your voice heard and your privacy advice be more likely to be effectively operationalized by your leadership and corporation.
