There is a lot of up-front artificial intelligence governance work. But once the policies are drafted, inventory built, and initial impact assessments completed, what happens next? Specifically, what will “Year Two” of your AI governance function look like? What should periodic reviews of high risk AI systems look like? How should you do a formal review for a substantial modification. Similarly, what does a mature post-market monitoring process look like? Each of these activities may involve different groups of stakeholders, and have different trade-offs when it comes to actually implementing and maintaining them across your organization. This panel of AI governance leaders will share their thoughts on “Year Two” activities. Panelists will share the trade-offs they made in designing their processes, how they operationalized them, and reflections on what best practices should be going forward.

What you will learn:

  • Best practices for doing periodic reviews of AI systems, including who should be involved, and how to handle these when using 3rd party AI systems.
  • How to handle catching and responding to frequent changes made to the AI system, and how to move at the pace of AI innovation.
  • The limitations of purely internal AI monitoring, and learn why proactive user outreach and feedback should be a core component of post-market monitoring.
