Privacy certifications can demonstrate accountability, build trust and support GDPR compliance, but their true value lies in effective implementation. Based on Allianz's experience as a multinational company holding both Europrivacy and TÜV privacy certifications, this session shares concrete lessons learned from preparing for, obtaining and maintaining privacy certifications. The discussion focuses on practical realities for DPOs and privacy teams, including scoping and control selection, evidence preparation, audit interactions and embedding certification results into ongoing governance. It also addresses common misconceptions, operational challenges and alignment with regulatory expectations. Attendees will leave with actionable strategies to approach certifications efficiently, which key areas to focus on during audits and leverage certification outcomes to strengthen governance, risk management and trust with customers and stakeholders.
What you will learn:
- Practical lessons learned when scoping, preparing for and completing privacy certification audits.
- How privacy certifications strengthen the company and enhance customer trust.
