As AI systems increasingly influence hiring, productivity and workplace decision-making, companies face growing regulatory and ethical scrutiny. This panel will examine emerging governance challenges through the lens of U.S. and EU frameworks, comparing legal obligations, enforcement models and cultural expectations around transparency, fairness and workers’ rights.

We will explore three case studies:

1.High-Risk Classification: A multinational’s use of AI for recruitment triggered “high-risk” status under the EU AI Act and Colorado's AI Act, with cascading obligations under CCPA, NYC Local Law 144 etc.

2.U.S. Enforcement Gaps: A U.S. company’s deployment of AI assistants exposed it to overlapping privacy, anti-discrimination and FTC rules—highlighting the risks of regulatory patchwork.

3.Governance Blind Spots: A retrospective on procurement missteps illustrates the consequences of ignoring AI risks embedded in vendor ecosystems. The session will offer practical insights on compliance, accountability and responsible AI deployment in the modern workplace.

What you will learn:

  • How to navigate cross-jurisdictional AI risk classifications.
  • Strategies for managing regulatory fragmentation.
  • Building resilience into the AI governance program through procurement and vendor oversight.
