AI in Legal Services Advisory Board

Through independent guidance and diverse perspectives, the board informs the initiative's Body of Knowledge, research agenda, product roadmap, and market positioning. Board members help ensure that the initiative's education, certification, research, and community offerings remain practical, vendor-neutral, globally relevant, and aligned with real-world legal practice.

The board also serves as an important source of credibility and thought leadership, helping connect the initiative with influential stakeholders across the legal, technology, governance, and policy communities.

Meet the AI in Legal Services Advisory Board

Board expectations

  • Serve a two-year term.
  • Maintain an active IAPP membership.
  • Provide strategic guidance on the direction and priorities of the Legal AI Initiative. 
  • Review and provide feedback on the Body of Knowledge, research themes, product roadmap, and market positioning. 
  • Identify emerging legal AI trends, opportunities, risks, and use cases relevant to the profession. 
  • Recommend key organizations, experts, and stakeholders whose perspectives should inform the initiative. 
  • Serve as strategic sounding boards and ambassadors for the initiative within their professional networks. 
  • Participate in periodic advisory board meetings and contribute expertise to support the initiative's success. 

Selection criteria

Boards are selected with the goal of creating a balanced working group based on experience level, industry sector, geographic location and area of expertise. Considerations for selection include:

  • Continuous membership with the IAPP.
  • Knowledge and experience in relevant legal AI technologies, governance, risks, opportunities, and best practices.
  • Demonstrated leadership in the legal AI ecosystem.
