Event scholarships
Eligible applicants must be actively enrolled as a full-time student, including during the conference period. Applicants cannot have received a previous conference scholarship from the IAPP.
Ideal candidates will demonstrate a sincere interest in privacy, AI governance or cybersecurity law, and be able to actively participate in conference activities. Students at all experience levels are encouraged to apply.
The student discount program applies only to our certification bundles. Availability of academic rates for conferences varies by event. If available, it will be posted on the events pricing page.
No, if you have received a scholarship from the IAPP in the past you are not eligible for an event scholarship. This applies to scholarship recipients of any kind, not just event scholarships.
Student bundles
The student discount is 85% off IAPP products.
ALL active students can request access to the student discount by emailing membership@iapp.org. Students no longer need to be in a privacy-based program to receive access.
The student discount can be used for CIPP/C, CIPP/E, CIPP/US, CIPM and CIPT and associated merchandise.
There is no longer a formal on-boarding process. Interested professors and students can contact us at membership@iapp.org to learn more about the student discount.
Westin Fellowship
The minimum requirement for applicants is completion of an advanced degree. Westin Fellows have typically been, but are not always, law school graduates who have not yet taken the bar or begun practicing law.
Fellows are encouraged to work with a hybrid schedule from the IAPP headquarters in Portsmouth, NH, though a remote fellowship within the U.S. may be possible. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, permanent residents or be eligible for work authorization in the U.S.
The fellowship is approximately one year and generally begins and ends in August.
Most of a Westin Fellow’s time is devoted to contributing to the production of the IAPP’s research team, in collaboration with the publications team. The fellow will also present IAPP research in appropriate forums and contribute to the development and maintenance of resources in the IAPP Resource Center.
