The U.S. House Committee on Rules announced 5 April it will attempt to put a "compromise" bill extending Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act to a floor vote, The Record reports. House members are expected to vote on amendments that would require a search warrant prior to accessing the Section 702 communications database. Section 702 sunsets 19 April without congressional action.
