Cyprus’ Commissioner for Personal Data Irene Loizidou Nicolaidou clarified her opinion on the use of CCTV in private properties and apartment buildings, the Cyprus Mail reports. Nicolaidou originally said personal data legislation does not apply for cameras installed in private properties if the footage is processed by individuals and concerns personal activities, but she added the recording should not extend beyond the property’s perimeter. CCTV can be used by apartment complex tenants if it does not interfere with neighbors’ privacy, she said.
