IT World Canada reports Privacy Commissioner of Canada Daniel Therrien discussed potential privacy shortcomings within the proposed Consumer Privacy Protection Act. Therrien opined the CPPA "leaves out an important facet of our current legislation" as it doesn't fully address meaningful consent and may allow companies "to use vague, if not obscure" privacy notices. Additionally, Therrien indicated a proposed Data Protection Tribunal for enforcement "would only delay access to justice for consumers."
