Several objections were filed over the final settlement in a $92 million class-action lawsuit between TikTok and its American users, Law Street reports. TikTok was alleged to have secretly collected user data and shared it with the Chinese government. Cases were consolidated in Illinois and class members sued the company for a potential violation of the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act. According to an objector, 98.6% of the class objected to the settlement and "thought the terms were so bad, they did not bother to file a claim."
