McDonald's agreed to pay $50 million to its Illinois employees who entered biometric data to log into the restaurant’s system as part of a class-action lawsuit, Top Class Actions reports. Class members alleged Illinois McDonald's restaurants violated the state Biometric Information Privacy Act by requiring some employees to enter biometric information without providing proper disclosures or obtaining their consent. Plaintiffs hired on or before Dec. 31, 2018, are eligible for up to $375, while those hired after that date can receive up to $190.
