Malaysia's new population tracking database raised privacy concerns after Minister of Economy Rafizi Ramli claimed a loophole in the system could increase the threat of identity theft, South China Morning Post reports. Ramli said a weakness in the system allows for anyone with a person's identity card number and postcode to register as that person.
