In a blog post, Google's Vice President, Government Affairs and Public Policy Karan Bhatia said the company commends the new EU-U.S. Trans-Atlantic Data Privacy Framework. “People want to be able to use digital services from anywhere in the world and know that their privacy is respected, and their information safe and protected,” Bhatia said. “This agreement acknowledges that reality.” Bhatia said Google looks forward to certifying its processes under the framework and that the standard, and others, “serve as a floor, not a ceiling” for user protections.
