Estonia’s government approved a national sanction on Yandex, owner of Russian ride-hailing firm Yandex.Taxi, ERR News reports. Prime Minister Kaja Kallas said the sanction follows security concerns amid Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. IT and Foreign Trade Minister Andres Sutt said Yandex application users “need to grant access to a large amount of personal data processed on the company’s servers in Russia,” adding the sanction is intended “to prevent the collection and exploitation of Estonian users’ data by Russian intelligence services.”
