MobileIron will release an update of its Content Security Service in order to address the issue of U.S. workers using personal mobile apps to do business and leaving corporate data at risk. This update encrypts data as it travels to personal accounts on certain cloud services and adds company-established policies that explain what can be done with the data, including sharing it. Documents can be deleted after a certain amount of time and documents that are updated can have old copies of the document purged and replaced. The updated system will also track who accessed the documents, when they accessed them and what device they used to do so. This update to MobileIron Content Security Service will be offered as an add-on to the core MobileIron platform.
Varonis Systems, Inc., a company that deals with handling metadata, has announced updates for Varonis DatAdvantage, Varonis DataPrivilege and Varonis IDU Classification Framework. These updates allow for finding sensitive information and implementing stricter protective systems on the data, greater ability to identify data patterns and a new statistics interface, among other enhancements. Many of these new protocols and security updates are in response to recent data breaches and the failure of companies to address data security issues.
