When you are responsible for data protection and AI at your company or institution, you add the most value when you focus on the most complex issues. However, too often, issues land on your desk, not because they are complex, but because business and engineering teams do not always know how to deal with them. The result? Routine matters get escalated unnecessarily.  This session will give you practical guidance on how best to engage, equip and empower business and engineering teams with the right privacy and AI risk know-how to make your job easier. Drawing on experience advising a multitude of sophisticated and entry-level internal and external clients, the panelists bring private-practice, in-house and risk/compliance perspectives on data protection, privacy, cyber and AI governance best-practices at leading global companies. They have worked in integrated teams combining legal, risk, compliance, governance and engineering competencies.

What you will learn:

  • How to build and structure teams that can issue-spot, triage and troubleshoot before escalating to legal and GRC specialists.

  • Specific, practical techniques for encouraging proactive and open communication about data protection and AI.

  • Real-life case studies (and a few war stories) that illustrate what works, and what does not.
