There have been several giant privacy settlements over the last few years, and a wave of new privacy laws around the country. In the wake of these new laws, enforcement activity is poised to rise, with both federal and state regulators deepening their understanding of these new laws and deepening their bench of attorneys. As more and more state regulators come online, new styles of enforcement are also poised to emerge. Some states will choose splashy litigation, some will pursue pre-suit settlements, some will take an audit approach, and some will only enforce on their priorities.
What you will learn:
- The enforcement strength of new privacy laws.
- The different ways regulators will approach enforcement.
- How regulators determine their enforcement strategies.
