Impostor syndrome is usually defined as feeling like a fraud and doubting your skills and capabilities. Studies suggest that this phenomenon is more frequently experienced by women than men. Forbes has even reported that around 75% of female executives experience impostor syndrome in the workplace. Thus, becoming a privacy leader requires us to better understand imposter syndrome and the ways to make it our best friend.

How does the rise of artificial intelligence impact leadership in the privacy domain? Could it be a solution to overcoming impostor syndrome or a barrier to leaders in privacy, especially women?

In 2024, as part of the Women Leading Privacy Advisory Board, we held a successful web conference on impostor syndrome with over 400 registrants. This year, we are bringing the discussion to the Congress.

What you will learn:

  • The main characteristics of impostor syndrome, how to identify it and embrace it.
  • How to use AI as a tool that contributes to overcoming impostor syndrome on day-to-day tasks of privacy professionals.
  • Valuable insights for handling tough discussions such as voicing innovative ideas and difficult conversations.
