A claim has been filed to the High Court of Justice against Google over alleged children's privacy violations by YouTube, BBC News reports. The collective action accuses YouTube of collecting the data of more than 5 million children without obtaining parental consent, which breaches both U.K. and EU privacy laws. The plaintiffs are seeking more than 2 billion GBP in damages for unlawful practices that date back to May 2018. The case is not expected to be heard until 2021.
