The week of 18 July is shaping up to be a historic one for APAC privacy in Singapore. Not only will the 45th meeting of the Asia Pacific Privacy Authorities be held there for the first time, 21-22 July, but also the IAPP will host its Asia Privacy Forum on 19 July to be followed by the RSA Conference 20-22 July. Plus, the week now starts with a daylong event focusing on the APEC Cross-Border Privacy Rules to be held 18 July by the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation and the Centre for Information Policy Leadership at MasterCard Singapore. The event features Hilary Wandall, CIPM, CIPP/E, CIPP/US, CPO at Merck, Christina Peters, CIPP/US, CPO at IBM, and a number of other privacy pros and regulators discussing what CBPRs are, how their usefulness is growing, and how they might work for your company working in the Asia-Pacific region.
