Vermont Attorney General TJ Donovan has filed a lawsuit against Clearview AI for alleged violations of state privacy laws. In the filing to the Chittenden Superior Court's Civil Division, Donovan claims Clearview's facial-recognition technology and collection of images breaches the Vermont Consumer Protection Act and the state's data broker law. "This practice is unscrupulous, unethical, and contrary to public policy," Donovan said.
