University of Tasmania staff is concerned about the school’s new identification card process, The Advocate reports. As of 1 Nov., old ID cards will be deactivated, and staff will be asked to upload a passport or driver’s license to a third party to obtain a new card. Australian Lawyers Alliance Spokesperson Greg Barns said the university’s decision “shows that privacy rights are not taken seriously.”
