BBC News reports an Oxford Crown Court judge upheld two claims against a U.K. resident who invaded the privacy of a neighbor using Ring doorbell cameras. The defendant ruled the neighbor broke U.K. privacy laws by installing cameras on a shed that faced the plaintiff's home, recording images and audio that were then sent to the defendant's phone. Judge Melissa Clarke said the audio data collection was "even more problematic and detrimental than video data." The defendant will be subject to yet-to-be-determined fines.
