Tim Hortons' parent company, Restaurant Brands International, proposed an offer to settle class-action lawsuits in three Canadian provinces, The Wall Street Journal reports. The company offered affected customers a free coffee and pastry. An investigation by federal and provincial authorities discovered people who downloaded the Tim Hortons mobile application had their movements tracked between April 2019 and September 2020, regardless of if they were using the app.
