The Guardian reports TikTok updated its European privacy notice and divulged details of company-wide user data access. The update, which applies to countries in the European Economic Area, the U.K. and Switzerland, explains TikTok employees in other countries have access to data to maintain a "consistent, enjoyable and safe" user experience. TikTok Head of Privacy, Europe, Elaine Fox said the employee access is based on "demonstrated need to do their job" and includes a "series of robust security controls and approval protocols" that follow the EU General Data Protection Regulation.
