  • An agreement among the four main EU political parties on the proposed Artificial Intelligence Act fell apart over how to address remote biometric identification, Euractiv reports. The European Parliament is set to vote on the proposal 14 June.
  • U.K. Prime Minister Rishi Sunak announced the U.K. will hold a world summit on AI policy and detailed the country's intention to be a leader in crafting global safeguards.
  • Members of the U.S. Senate are expected to introduce the Global Technology Leadership Act aimed at informing AI policymaking and innovation, NBC News reports. The bill comes as senators do their due diligence to develop a baseline knowledge on AI-related matters.
