Taiwan’s Ministry of Transportation and Communications issued a 90,000 yuan fine to a car rental company that experienced a data breach. The company, iRent, reportedly failed to comply with the Personal Data Protection Act and the Automobile Transportation Industry Personal data file security maintenance plan and handling method by not creating a “complete personal data file security maintenance plan." The ministry called on iRent to comply with the Personal Data Protection Act by 28 Feb.
