An Australian National University study found trust in data privacy increased during the COVID-19 pandemic. The study asked 3,200 Australians for their opinions on data privacy and security before and during the pandemic. The Australian Bureau of Statistics was the agency with the highest reported level of trust, followed by universities, states and territories, and federal government. Trust for companies used to make online purchases, like banks and telecommunications companies, increased by nearly 30%.
