Five state attorneys general in the U.S. reached a USD9 million settlement with Google over deceptive location tracking practices. The settlement resolves allegations that Google's "Location History" and "Web & App Activity" account settings misled consumers and violated state consumer protection laws since at least 2014. In announcing the settlement, New Hampshire Attorney General John Formella said, "Consumers need to be able to understand how their location data will be used before making the conscious decision to utilize services and products."
