The Spanish data protection authority, the AEPD, has fined IKEA en España 10,000 euros for alleged violations of Article 22(2) of the country’s law on Information Society Services and Electronic Commerce. IKEA en España allegedly installed cookies onto users’ devices without obtaining consent. After it received the complaint in January, the DPA found 23 cookies were automatically downloaded to users’ devices whenever they visited the company's website. (Original article is in Spanish.)
