With more than 1,000 respondents to the 2019 IAPP Privacy Professionals Salary Survey, there was a lot of data to analyze. Much of this tall task was led by IAPP Senior Westin Research Fellow Müge Fazlioglu, CIPP/E, CIPP/US. Though there is some great news based on these results — that on the whole, privacy pros have higher salaries than two years ago — there was some not-so-good news involving geographic disparities and, most notably, gender gaps in compensation. In this post for Privacy Perspectives, which was originally released May 2 during the Global Privacy Summit, Fazlioglu discusses the good and bad news and offers her thoughts on what can be done to address the gender gap.
